For Care Homes

Private voice memory spaces for care organisations

Hospices, nursing homes, senior residences and dementia care teams preserve their residents' life stories — GDPR-compliant, EU-hosted, with DPA. With dignity and discretion.

How blyven works for care teams

Four steps. No training required. Privacy at every stage.

  1. 01

    Register your organisation

Administrators sign up with a central account and get the team plan with DPA in place from day one.

  2. 02

    Invite residents & families

Admins invite residents and family members via email or QR code. No technical knowledge required on either side.

  3. 03

    Recordings stay private

Residents and their family circles own their recordings. The organisation can see usage data — never the recording contents.

  4. 04

    Dignified handover

On move-out or after passing, recordings can be handed to family or exported as a memorial album. Full control, no lock-in.

Built for every kind of care setting

Hospices & palliative units

Preserve voice and messages while there is still time. Gentle workflow — guided questions, short recordings, easy enough to use bedside.

Nursing & senior homes

Biography work as part of daily care. Recordings about childhood, work, family — meaningful for residents, valuable for families, deepens the care relationship.

Dementia care

Voices from earlier years as an anchoring tool. Early recordings can be used later in reminiscence therapy — an established part of person-centred dementia care.

Your privacy is our foundation

We built blyven with security and privacy at its core. Your memories belong to you — always.

Zero-knowledge architecture

We cannot access your recordings or transcriptions. Your data is encrypted so that only you and your circle can read it.

End-to-end encryption

Your voice recordings are encrypted in transit and at rest. No one — not even us — can listen to them without your permission.

Data stays in the EU

All data is stored exclusively in EU data centers (Frankfurt & Ireland). We never transfer your data outside the European Union.

Complete deletion guaranteed

When you delete your account, everything is permanently removed. No hidden backups, no data retention beyond your control.

Never sold, never used for AI

Your recordings are never sold to third parties and never used to train AI models. Your voice stays yours.

You control access

Fine-grained sharing controls let you decide exactly who hears each recording. Revoke access anytime.

Common questions from care teams

Who can listen to the recordings?

Only the resident and the people they explicitly add to their family circle. The organisation sees only administrative data like seats and usage — never the contents of recordings.

What happens to data when a resident leaves?

Recordings belong to the resident. On move-out or passing they can be handed to family as a ZIP or audio archive. On request, blyven deletes all data GDPR-compliantly — including automatically after a pre-agreed retention period.

Can you provide a Data Processing Agreement (DPA)?

Yes. We provide a standard DPA per Art. 28 GDPR that organisations in DE/AT/CH can sign without modifications. All data is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt).

Does blyven work for dementia care?

Yes — particularly with early- and mid-stage dementia, early recordings can anchor later reminiscence work. The interface is intentionally simple: one large record button, optional guided prompts. Person-centred biography work is a well-established method in dementia care.
